Pen Delfin specializes in handcrafted and hand-painted stoneware in Burnley, Lancashire, England. It has a considerable fan club which covers Europe, North America and Australia. Jean Walmsley Heap and Jeannie Todd started it in the early 1950s, and it became a thriving business.
It was initially created as a hobby for making presents for the family but quickly gained worldwide fame. It got its name from a famous hill near Burnley called Pendle Hill, famous for tales of witches and ghouls. As a result, the first model produced by the company was named the Pendle Witch.
